About Daryl Hayott
Born in Brazil -
raised in Harlem - there's nothing missing from the music he creates
because he plays with his soul. Daryl attributes his Brazilian
heritage for his ability to play and maintain rhythm. These things
are inherent in Africans and Brazilians. My ancestral roots
and those who have gone before me give this to me.
He doesn't like to
talk about himself because he's "just an artist." All praise
for his talents go to the Supreme. Daryl says regularly that
his gifts are on loan from the Supreme for this lifetime. He
plays drums, keys, guitar, bass, violin, trumpet --- and the list
goes on.
His career has allowed
him to do
it all and see it all having been in the pros since he was a
teenager. He has toured and played all over the world with
major artists and with his own band.
His focus now are
the indie artists he has chosen to be a part of his record label,
Keep the
Light Records, that he has partnered with Tomaca Govan to
create.

lives his life to Keep the Light. It is everything to him.
